Is the Wii console different from Wii Fit or Will Sports or Wii whatever? Or is Wii Fit just a add-on?

I’m asking if you buy the console first and then all the other attachments to make it Wii fit or Wii sports? What is the Wii fit attachment? What comes standard on a Wii "system"? Sorry but I’m 40 something looking to buy for me, the kids and hubby this Christmas and want it to be something for everyone.

Wii Fit and Wii Sports are games that are used with the Wii Console.
You get the original Wii Sports game free with the console (there is now also a Wii Sports Resort game that you can by separately, which has more events on it), and you can also buy it as a bundle which will also include the Wii Fit game, but either way, the Wii Console functions separately on it’s own without either of those 2 games if you choose not to use them.
Wii Fit comes with something called the Balance Board, which you can plug into the Wii Console and gauges your weight and balance whilst you’re using the Wii Fit game. The Balance Board can also be used with some other Wii games, like Punch Out!, although you can also play those other games just fine without the Balance Board attached (for Wii Fit, you need to have the Balance Board connected).
As standard, the Wii Console comes with one controller (also known as a ‘Wii Remote’ and one ‘Nunchuck’ attachment, which has a control stick and a couple of extra buttons on it, and can be plugged into the Wii Remote for games that require it. (Some games work just fine with the Wii Remote on it’s own, on screen instructions will appear telling you to attach the Nunchuck if you need to), and a free game, Wii Sports, which will work fine with the Wii Console and it’s controllers out of the box. You will need to separately buy extra Wii Remotes for other players to join in (you can have a maximum of 4 players at once, so you may need to buy another 3 Wii Remotes if you want to play games with your hubby and kids) and, also, if the game you want to play requires that the Nunchuck be attached, then each player will also need their own Nunchuck attachment, which you will also have to buy separately.
However, if you buy the Wii Sports Resort game separately, then it will only work with something called the Wii MotionPlus attachement, which plugs onto the bottom of the Wii Remote. One MotionPlus attachment comes free with the Wii Sports Resort game, but you’ll have to buy others separately so that more than one player at a time can play.
It may seem like a lot of money to pay out for extra controllers and stuff, and it is, but if you just keep things simple at first….that is, you just buy the console (which will come with Wii Sports, 1 Wii Remote and 1 Nunchuck), Wii Fit (which comes with the Wii Balance Board) and 1 extra Wii Remote and 1 extra Nunchuck separately, then you will have more than enough things for a lot of multiplayer fun at Christmas and can worry about buying extra controllers and Nunchucks at a later date.
Hope that helps.
Wii fit, and wii sports are games. The concole comes with, well the console and controllers so you can put the games inside of it and play them…
All of the listed are add-ons you can buy.
You buy the wii console, and wii fit is a pressure sensitive mat you can buy for it, wii sports are some sport games you can play normally with the wii.
Usually when you buy a Wii, or at least when my brother bought his, it comes with a game. My brother’s came with Wii sports and there wasn’t an attachment that was needed. But, Wii Fit is another game for the Wii that comes with other stuff. For instance, you couldn’t just buy Wii fit, you need the Wii console first.
Wii sports comes with the wii and you just use the wii motes to play it.
Wii Fit, you have to buy the game and the Wii Fit fitness bored, which works like a wii mote in the sense that you sync it to your wii and just go about using it.
Regardless, you need to buy the wii system first, wii sports and wii fit are both games you buy for the system.
you buy the wii separately and the wii fit stuff you buy by it self wii fit would come with a wii balance board so essentially its just an add on but you can buy a bundle with lots of things together and save money
wii sports 1 should come with wii but you might be talking about wii sports resorts so you buy that separately
Fit is an add on. Wii sport has the game WiiSport bandled free. Get it. Got Wii for kids last Christmas, the best choice. You might need an extra controller, for 2 players. Try to get the extra controller bandled with a free game too.
You must have the Wii console before you can play the Wii Fit. You buy the Wii Fit seperate. The console will run about $250. The Wii Fit(which is basically a game) will run around $100. Wii Sports is a game that comes with the console. The console includes one controller, and Wii Sports.(Unless you purchase the one that’s on the link I’ve provided!) You must purchase everything else seperately. This is based on assuming that you aren’t buying a bundle.
This is the Wii Fit:

???? I don’t understand the question.
If you buy the $199.99 Wii, you get Wii Sports (which is a game) with it for free. Other stuff that comes on the WIi system is the all the Cables and tuff you need, 1 Wii Remote, 1 Nunchuck attachment, and a jacket for the Wii Remot.
Wii Fit is a game that comes with a Balance board, which can basically be describe as a different type of controller.. (I think it costs round $90 for a new one).
When you buy the actual wii console it will come with 1 controller and 1 nun-chuck (an add on controller needed for some games). The wii comes with the wii sports game already. The only things extra you would need is extra controllers (up to 4) and nun-chucks (its good to have 4 but we have 2 and have gotten by just fine in almost 3 years). Wii Fit is just another game. It costs around $90 and will come with board (which can be used for other games not just wii fit). The other attachments we have is we keep 2 wheel attachments because our children enjoy playing racing games with them, 2 classic controllers as both the kids/husband like using them on some games like super smash brothers and you need them if you download any older games online, and we have 2 motion plus attachments for the wii sports resort (you have to have this attachment to play the game and it comes with 1 and others are $20 but you can also share controllers so for 4 of us we find that 2 works just fine). There are plenty of other attachments out there like for sword fighting, base ball, tennis etc… but they are not needed and in our experience the little kids are the ones that like them the best.
