Which one would be better to get? Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3? Or can anyone let me know if there are any new game consoles soon to come out in 2008, so i don’t waste my money getting either Wii or PS3, only to find out theres a new game console coming out?
Thank You in advance

If you would like nice casual games you can play with your family or kids, pick Wii.
If you want more traditional games, "gamer’s games," select PS3 (or Xbox 360, if you’re so inclined).
Wii targets a completely different market than PS3 and Xbox – they’re focusing on casual gamers.
And no, no new game consoles are coming out in 2008.
definitely get a PS3, as it has much betterr games like the orange box, and the only good game for wii is SSBB
the best choice is the ps3 and if your a online player online is all free
Get a Xbox 360 man…
Its the best!
Great graphics
Awesome games
Great options
AND
XBOX LIVE RULES!!!!
& its affordable!!
Honestly, the best system is X-Box 360 despite all if its problems. If you do happen to get a malfunctioning one, you can send it back and get one another one for freee. The 360 has the best games, the best support and the largest online fan base. But if you have absolutely ruled that out then I would go with a PS3. It’s graphics are far superior than that of the Wii and there is a larger game population.
And, yes, Nintendo has confirmed that they have indeed been working on a new handheld and gaming console. Though it has not been specified when these will be coming out.
Probably Wii.
Even if Nintendo is abandoning its oldest supporters, the Wii still has some solid and unique games (not to mention party games). On the other hand, the PS3 pretty much has the same games that you will get on a 360 or a PC.
If you are a die-hard Ratchet and Clank fan or a MGS fan, get a PS3 (these games are great, really). Assuming you have a 360 or a decent PC, you aren’t missing much else.
The Wii on the other hand, starts off with games that people always want to play for some reason or another, despite their quality (Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play). Then there is Super Smash Brothers Brawl (quite good).
If you are looking for other good titles, the newest Mario/Metroid Zelda/"insert Nintendo mascot here" games are all usually above average, if not great games.
A few Wii games you might not have thought of though: Lego Star Wars (fun, but not serious game), Okami (slightly better than the PS2 version thanks to the Wiimote), No More Heroes (dude kills stuff with a lightsaber), and Resident Evil 4 (if you are a RE fan).
One game in particular caught me by surprise though: Trauma Center: Second Opinion. This is a surprisingly fun surgery game that provides plenty of challenge, if you stray from easy difficulty. No-one believes they will like it at first, but almost everyone who can beat the first level comes to like it eventually. To sweeten the deal, they came out with a sequel (Trauma Center: New Blood) that has many more different types of operations, some difficult challenges for those who are too good at the series, and something amazing: two player mode. You wouldn’t believe how fun it is to have two people working together on an operation, especially before you get coordinated. ("Shit! I was making the opening incision! Stop stabbing him with the scalpel!!!""Okay… you just remove the bullet while I… GOD DAMNIT!!! (OPERATION FAILED: The Medical Board Will be Notified.))
