www.turboviews.com Turbo Views #5 video review of “JJ and Jeff” for the turbografx 16 (turbochip) / turboduo video-game system. Rating: 3 1/2 out of 5 Released in 1990. **Also AVAILABLE via Nintendo Wii’s virtual console**

Could be fun to pick up the japanese version to see how it goes.
The Japanese Version, of which I compare/contrast in the upcoming DVD, is the same game. It has a few toilet-humor things in it that are funny the first couple times. But, in the end……it’s no better or worse (in this reviewer’s humble opinion).
Really good review!
I like the cover for this game, and I want to draw it my style (Trust me, that style may be childish, but it’s fun and easy to draw.)
Hey cool! If you do it, make sure you send me one my way. I’d love to see it!
It’s up!

Ha! That’s great! Nice work.
Thanks for the dedication, I’m honored! I’m going to print that page. Hee hee!
Wow, you’re one of the first reviewers (at least from what Ive seen) to acknowledge that some strangeness in localizations of japanese games probably made more sense in japanese. I would assume that Many of the jokes in the original Kato-Chan and Ken-chan would have been visual puns based in japanese language or references to japanese pop culture which would be lost on americans.
Hey, thanks! I try to acknowledge that whenever I can, you know? Being that I’m American and only played the Turbo on this side of the pond, I try to be fair in that respect.
Thanks for watching!
Very nicely done….but one question
Does ANYBODY know where the key is located in field six?
Thanks for the compliments.
I beat the game back when I reviewed it but forgot where the key was located. I took at look at my “raw” footage from the game and it looks like the key is inside a gray block in 6-3. There are four gray blocks stacked up with two on either side. You have to climb the left gray block to jump “over” the staked blocks. Kick the grab block to the right to reveal the key.
Kato-chan and Ken-chan the Japaneses counterpart is the same as this one with exception of the censorship like peeing on lamppost and taking a dump in the bushes replaced with the character wearing a bear mask and the pee removed(although you can still tell what he’s doing).Save your Wii points(since this game has ZERO CONTINUES, have some continues G*D D**N IT) and get the import if you not traumatized by seeing a Japaneses man’s junk and rear end, then again just avoid this game.
Yeah, the Japanese version and its “shock value” lasts all of about……oh, ten seconds. Otherwise, there’s no reason to buy that version. If you like the game, the J. J. and Jeff version is just fine.
The game does have unlimited continues. You just hold I + II and press Run at the “Game Over” screen. Easy as pie>
That key! Is that why I can’t seem to get off of the first stage?
There’s this wide hole right after a tree stump that I can never seem to jump over no matter how hard I try.
It’s humiliating to know that you’re good at a particular genre then along comes a fun game that seems to confine you to the first stage and you’re like “whaa…this makes no sense! How am I suposed to…” but, sadly pride gets in the way of your asking for help so, you just move on to another game and try to forget.
Real men don’t ask for directions OR help on games. Ha ha!
I truly understand. Thanks for watching!
Cool!! Another great game that slipped under my radar!! This looks so fun and quirky!!!
That’s cool. The worst a fan could do otherwise if he or she wants to have that Japanese shock value left in is to perhaps create a mod rom hack of the game where it’s the J.J. & Jeff characters with the Japanese stuff left in. But as it is, it’s still a pretty nifty and fun game.
This game made no sense and has harder than H*** to control!
it looks a bit like an adventure island clone.
I have noticed a lot of Hudson Soft games tend to have that Wonderboy / Adventure Island look and feel. You know?
That’s why I like it. Hee hee.
Thanks for watching!
Cool! No problem! I enjoy your videos!!!
LMAO i remember that when i was 6!
Wow, I can’t remember too much when I was “6.” I envy you.
Thanks for watching!
I like your reviews. ^^
Hey, thanks a lot. It means a ton!
